HomeFront’s Women’s Initiative gathers to celebrate “Joy, Hopes and Dreams”

Posted

Mercer County, N.J., nonprofit HomeFront hosted its annual Women’s Initiative Spring Luncheon April 21 at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, N.J.

With over 300 attendees, the Women’s Initiative came together to support HomeFront’s array of children’s programs serving local kids who are impacted by poverty and homelessness.

The HomeFront Women’s Initiative began over 15 years ago with a goal of gathering over 1,000 local women to lend their expertise, time, talent, and treasure to support HomeFront’s comprehensive array of programs including shelter, educational and employment support, food and other basic necessities, health and wellness programs, and since their earliest days, a particular focus on enrichment and support for children.

Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson took the helm as emcee for the luncheon program. Throughout the event, stories of resilience, challenges, and triumphs were shared by current and alumni families of HomeFront’s Joy, Hopes and Dreams program, which provides academic enrichment, educational workshops and recreational programs that run six nights a week.
