Hollywood Summer Night classic films at County Theater

Posted

Starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday nights throughout the summer, classic films featuring Hollywood’s biggest stars will be shown on the big screen at The County Theater, 20 E. State St., Doylestown.

Hollywood Summer Nights brings out the classics that are intended to be seen on the silver screen. For nearly 20 years, the County Theater has showcased this series.

Program Director Brendan Joyce is most excited for “Kiss Me Deadly,” a first-time showing at the theater. “It’s a deep cut noir that perfectly captures all the pulpy archetypes of the genre and has influenced the French New Wave to Tarantino,” Joyce said.

This year, the lineup includes “Casablanca,” “The Godfather Part II,” “The Matrix,” “Vertigo,” and much more.

General admission costs $13 per person, or $7.50 for members. Senior and young person tickets are also available for $11. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.
