Grundy Library presents dementia educational programs

Posted

People living with dementia may face various challenges that could prevent them from maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

To address some of these challenges, the Grundy Library in Bristol is hosting a series of dementia educational programs in November.

The first, at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8, is “Dementia and Nutrition” with guest speakers, dietitians Natalie Koch and Alexis Oswald, Lower Bucks Hospital; Reginald (Vance) Cooper, behavioral health community liaison, and Leeann Morsa, manager of behavioral health, Lower Bucks Hospital.

The program may be beneficial for family and caregivers as well as someone who lives with dementia, providing opportunities for them to learn what to expect as their disease progresses. The speakers will allow for Q&A at the end of their sessions and offer additional resources if needed.

The following week, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, guest speakers Michael Williams and Lorraine Lafferty, volunteer community educators from the Alzheimer’s Association, will discuss the second part of the series, “Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body.”

Learn about the latest research and get insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help keep your brain and body healthy as you age. Use hands-on tools to help incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.

Register at www.grundylibrary.org or by calling 215-788-7891.

These programs are offered by Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library in support of the PA Forward – Pennsylvania Libraries initiative.
