The Solebury Board of Supervisors on Tuesday granted Solebury School permission to build a natural grass soccer field and a natural grass baseball field at its 6832 Phillips Mill Road campus.
The unanimous preliminary/final land development approval for the 140-acre private school also included associated field amenities including construction of a new comfort building with paving, walkways, grading and stormwater management.
Approval came at the recommendation of the township Planning Commission.
Solebury’s Police Chief Dominick Bellizzie is retiring next July and the recently appointed Chief of Police Search Committee has interviewed three consultants to help with the search, said supervisor Chair Mark Baum Baicker.
The committee recommended the appointment the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association as consultant for the selection process.
The supervisors unanimous approved the recommendation.
In other business, the board voted to remove unlicensed, uninspected and dismantled vehicles from public streets and fine the owners $50, together with all costs of disposing of the vehicle.
To reclaim a vehicle, the owner would have to pay towing and storage costs, plus a $25 fee, of which $10 would be transferred to the state Department of Transportation.
The board also:
• Accepted the resignation of Kellie Cummings from the Environmental Advisory Council;
• Appointed former associate member Stuart Teacher to a full member of the Historical Architectural Review Board for a term ending Dec. 31, 2028.
