Grace M. Hendricks

Grace M. Hendricks, a lifelong resident of Lambertville and Stockton area, NJ, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2022 at the Hunterdon Care Center. She was 80 years old.

Born in Stockton on January 8, 1942. Grace was the daughter of D. Clarke and Frances Martin Hendricks. She attended Stockton Public School. Grace and her mother moved to Lambertville in 1972. Grace worked for over 20 years at the York Luggage Company in Lambertville.

As an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville, Grace served as a church deacon, faithfully attended Sunday services and enjoyed the church’s Wednesday night socials. She was the first person to greet Sunday worshipers as she operated the stair chair to assist people in reaching the upstairs sanctuary. Grace also was a dedicated volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center. She was honored by the hospital administration at a special luncheon on the 30th anniversary of her service.

For years she never missed afternoon coffee with her friend Ruth Wrinn at Bracco’s deli. Grace made friends wherever she went.

In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her brothers and their wives Donald G. and Doris Cairns; Herbert M. and Barbara Hendricks and Allen Hendricks. She is survived by her niece and care giver Aileen Burnett and her husband Theo of Newnan, Georgia; her sister-in-law Margaret Horner of Stockton; her many nieces and nephews and their families. She is also fondly remembered by an extended family of friends and neighbors, her church family and her fellow volunteers at the hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville, 31 N. Union Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530.

There will be visitation at the church on Monday morning from 10 am until the start of services.

Attendees are respectfully requested to be masked for services.

Interment will follow at Carversville Cemetery, Carversville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Grace’s memory may be made to the Deacon’s Fund at the First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville.
