George Morrison Davis

George Morrison Davis, 87, passed away peacefully on Feb. 12, 2022, in New Hope, Pa., after a difficult journey with dementia. At the time of his passing, George was at home with his beloved wife and daughter by his bedside.
He is survived by his wife Carmella Fresco Davis; his two children, MaryAnn Davis Musselman and George Mark Davis; his son-in-law John Musselman; as well as three grandchildren, Lauren, Caitlin and Matthew Musselman.
George was born and raised in Solebury, Pa., to the late Clyde and Bertha (Shields) Davis. After graduating from New-Hope Solebury High School in 1953, he served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Naples Italy during the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged from the military in 1961, he went on to work with his mother at the Solebury Post Office. In 1963, George became the postmaster where he served for 39 years.
He was a member and served many different levels for the following organizations, New Hope American Legion Post 79, Lambertville Elks, The New Hope Lions Club, The New Hope Soccer Club, The New Hope Community Association and The United States National Postmasters Association.
George was a kind and gentle soul, an active member of the local community and an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers fan.
There are no events planned, as he did not wish to have services. You may make a donation to Doylestown Health Hospice Care (doylestownhealth.org/hospice) or the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) in George’s honor as an alternative to flowers.
