Frederick R. Nobbs Jr.

Frederick R. Nobbs Jr., a 46-year resident of Doylestown Township, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Oct. 14, 2022, in Doylestown at the age of 85.

Born on Aug. 29, 1937 in Hartford, Conn., to Frederick R. Nobbs and Marjorie H. (née Latham) Nobbs, Fred grew up in New England.

Fred graduated from the College of Wooster in 1959 with a BA in economics. He worked for the Eastman Kodak Company for 32 years as a sales and engineering representative in their Motion Picture & Audiovisual/Television Products Division.

Fred enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a sergeant at Fort Benning, Ga., 1961-64, in the Finance Office.

His many interests included World War II airplanes, Boy Scout camping and canoeing, sailing, golfing, but mostly the four-part harmony of barbershop choral singing. Fred was an elder at Doylestown Presbyterian Church and volunteered in many ways. He was also a member of the Dawn Patrol Men’s Bible Study, Christian Business Men’s Connection and Bible Talk.

Fred is predeceased by his parents, his stepmother, Eleanor G Willard Nobbs; his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Norman Munson; his brother-in-law, Richard T Miller, MD; and his son-in-law, William R Kuder Jr.

Fred is survived by his wife of 62 years, Priscilla (née Thorne) Nobbs; his daughter, Karen L Kuder; his son, Craig (Mary) Nobbs; his grandchildren Michael, Adam and Karla Nobbs, and William R Kuder III; his sister, Carolyn (Henry) Peterson and sister-in-law, Suzanne (neeThorne) Miller, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E. Court St., on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow the service at Doylestown Cemetery.
