Florence M. Miles

Florence M. Miles (Floss) of Doylestown, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 in the Wesley Enhanced Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Doylestown, Pa. She was 95.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Charles and Florence (O’Keefe) O’Connor, she resided in Philadelphia and New Hope before moving to Doylestown, Pa.

Floss found her true calling at the end of her career. She was a classroom assistant for special needs students in the School District of Philadelphia. Her love of children and adults was evident in all that she did. She was a caregiver to her mother Florence and her sisters Mary and Kitty. As a youngster, she helped care for her brothers Jerry and Charlie. She enjoyed trips to the casino and shopping was a passion. Floss will be missed by all that knew her, and she was known as a fashionista. The love of her life was her granddaughter Victoria, whom she thought of as a third daughter. Nana was thrilled when she became a great-grandmother to Ian. He called her Gigi. The joy and love on her face was evident from the first day she met him.

She was the devoted mother of Dr. Patricia Bainbridge and husband Donald, Debbie Brucks and husband Glenn; loving grandmother of Victoria Anderson-Ley and husband Ian; cherished great-grandmother of Ian Anderson-Ley; Bossie was the dear sister of the late Mary Dawson, Kitty Gross, Jerry O’Connor and Charles O’Connor; also survived by nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by the late Herbert Lukens and Henry W. Miles.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 N. Main St., Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022 from 10-11 a.m., with a celebration of life to begin at 11 a.m. At the family’s request please wear your sparkles, glitter and festive attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034 would be appreciated.
