Flemington Summer Book Fest returns

Posted

Memorial Day weekend marks the return of Flemington Summer Book Fest, which is expected to bring up to 5,000 bibliophiles to the borough over four days.

Billed as the largest Memorial Day literary event on the East Coast and presented by Act 2 Books, the Central Avenue bookshop, it runs Friday through Monday.

Anchored by the “Colossal Tent Event” sale, the festival will also feature “Author’s Row” on Central Station and the Stangl Arts and Cultural District along Stangl Road where local authors can mingle with readers. Also on tap is a Sunday Act 2 Talks production titled “Murder, Mayhem and Mystery” at the Flemington Welcome Center.

Festival-goers who bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the local food bank will receive a free book. The event will also raise funds for local libraries and support local literacy programs. For more information, visit SummerBookFest.com or call 908-968-3711.
