Flemington DIY and local promoter, Tape Pencil, are hosting a second “Magic Monday” show from 7-10 p.m. Monday, featuring music by Bhajan Bhoy (Amsterdam), Jeffrey Alexander & Heavy Lidders (Philadelphia), Human Adult Band (N.J.) & Plutonian Burrito (FloridaLouisiana).
Bhajan Bhoy is the latest project of the legendary Ajay Saggar. Former member of ‘80s and ‘90s bands like Donkey and Dandelion Adventure, sound engineer for Dinosaur Jr, My Bloody Valentine, Animal Collective and currently the production manager at Paradiso in Amsterdam. Bhajan Bhoy has new LPs on Cardinal Fuzz / Feeding Tube Records.
Jeffrey Alexander + The Heavy Lidders takes the freaked improvisation of Alexander’s instrumental band - DWLVS / Dire Wolves - into the world of song. Heady songwriting, ethereal jazz and Trad Gras-y blues stomps all featured. Backed by members of Elkhorn and Kohoutek. Heavy Lidders have a new LP on Arrowhawk Records, produced by Chris Forsyth and featuring guests from Movietone & Animal Collective.
The support acts will be New Jersey’s Human Adult Band, doing a 20-year anniversary set and Florida/Louisiana avant--improvisational group, Plutonian Burrito, who will also be showing home-made art films.
