Flemington DIY slates spooky storytelling benefit performance

Posted

Flemington DIY will hold its storytelling benefit performance, “Scared You Didn’t I?,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at The Stangl Factory at 50 Stangl Road, Flemington, N.J.

The event will be hosted by professional storyteller and playwright Michaela Murphy. The evening will feature spooky Halloween-themed stories as well as a raffle.

Tickets for the benefit are $100 for a ticket at a table and $50 a ticket in general seating; $25 rush tickets will be available one hour prior to the event. Stangl Factory is BYOB and attendees are welcome to bring drinks and cups. Tickets are on sale and available at www.flemingtondiy.org/scaredyou.

All proceeds from this event go to support Flemington DIY’s mission to provide an inclusive art space that engages the community, inspires social change, and invigorates the economic development of Flemington.

“Income should not be a barrier to participation in the arts,” said Ellen Gallos, DIY board member. “Our doors are open to everyone to participate in our events and programs, regardless of how much they can pay. By purchasing a ticket to the benefit, you are supporting that important work and get to enjoy an evening filled with great stories told by the masters with the chance to win fun local prizes.”

“Scared You Didn’t I” will feature an evening of real people telling real stories that just might scare you silly. This performance features Murphy, Mike Albo, David Lee White, Joey Novick, and a fifth storyteller to be announced soon. The performers have been featured in popular storytelling shows like “The Moth,” “Word of Mouth,” “R!SK,” “Story Collider,” “First Person Arts” and many more.
