Flemington DIY announces new location and membership program

Posted

Community arts nonprofit Flemington DIY has announced a new location at 26 Stangl Road in the heart of the town’s arts and culture district, the former site of N’Joy Yourself gift store.
The organization’s former space of seven years closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic and subsequently moved out last year due to redevelopment plans.
The new location will serve as a community space showcasing art, live music, film, screen-printing, and other activities, and providing a platform for community groups. The reopening is planned for early spring, with an eight-year anniversary celebration slated for May.
“We are beyond excited to finally make this announcement after a long road of virtual, pop-up events, and general uncertainty,” said Jeff Hersch, Flemington DIY executive director.
“We’ve worked hard to fundraise and get here, and we can’t wait to pick back up where we left off. We’re looking forward to contributing to the growing buzz along Stangl Road and getting back to providing quality, inclusive programs with the community.”

Flemington DIY is also launching a much-anticipated membership program, offering perks, swag, and benefits for a monthly contribution.
“Over the years, many people have asked how they could help support the space in an easy, continuous way,” Hersch continued.
“In this world, money is necessary to keep the doors open, so by becoming a monthly sustaining member, supporters will help us plan for the year, invest wisely, build capacity, and secure our future in our new home. When people invest in Flemington DIY, they are investing in themselves and the health of the community at large.”

Since its inception in 2014, Flemington DIY has hosted over 600 events ranging from live music to film screenings, classes and workshops, art shows, and community discussions.
