FISH, Between Friends receive donations from Village Fair

Posted

The final numbers are in. Despite a day with intermittent showers forecast and fewer attendees than hoped, the reintroduced Village Fair held on June 24 at Central Park in Doylestown raised $4,390.

“We wanted to start small, and I had hoped to raise $5,000,” said Village Improvement Association (VIA) Board Member and event chair Carol Shugars, “but we almost canceled the event due to the poor weather forecast, so I am pleased.”

Beneficiaries of the event, each of whom received half of the proceeds, are local nonprofit organizations Doylestown FISH and Between Friends Outreach.

With a theme of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” the Village Fair brought together the local nonprofit community to raise funds for members of the community in need of assistance with rising food, utility, and housing costs.

Doylestown Township partnered with the VIA to hold the event.
