Fanny Chapman Pool set to open

Posted

Fanny Chapman Memorial Pool in Doylestown has been approved to open Saturday, June 27, according to an announcement posted on its website Tuesday.

In order to comply with social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic, access to Fanny Chapman this season will be by reservation, and swim lessons and swim meets have been canceled, the website said.

“You must wear face coverings entering and exiting the pool complex as well as in the restrooms,” according to the website. “Social distancing is in effect at all times. Face coverings are not required once inside the complex other than restrooms.”

Members must make reservations to visit the pool, by visiting the FC website and selecting a timeslot and a pool where they would like to sit.

Time slots are limited to three hours each 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

“You may make a reservation up to three times within a seven-day period,” the website says, adding, “You will be able to reserve seven days in advance.”

Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will initially open at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, June 21, for the week starting Saturday, June 27. There is no charge to make a reservation.

Those who make a reservation will be emailed and texted a QR code to be scanned for admittance at their designated pool entrance time.

Upper Pool reservations will enter the Upper Pool deck through the double gate at the Upper Pool; Main, Toddler and Grass Area reservations will enter through the Main Pool entrance; New Pool reservations will enter through the New Pool gate at the sidewalk.

“When your reservation time is over, you will exit the same way you came in,” according to the website.

Reservation cancellations must be made prior to your reservation time at 215-348-7618 during pool hours. No shows (without cancellation) may affect your ability to make future reservation.
