Esther Fellman Welch passed away on December 26, 2023. She spent her last year at Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, Pa. She enjoyed life there and was treated most attentively by a caring staff. She was 103 years old.

She was wife and dancing partner to the late Mervin W. Welch. The couple, known as Merv and Es, had been happily married for 59 years and lived mostly in Holicong where they raised their two daughters. After Merv died in 2003, Esther moved to Doylestown and enjoyed life there as well.

Born December 4, 1920, in Danboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Alice Gross Fellman. Her fun loving brothers, Claude and Russell Fellman, and loving sister Myrtle Beck Nye are predeceased.

Esther graduated from Doylestown High School in 1938. She was an active member of Forest Grove Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Midway Fire Co. Auxiliary. After her daughters started school, she was a longtime hostess for the former Boswell’s Restaurant in Buckingham and made many friends there. She loved to read and write, get together with her “Sew What” group, knit Preemie hats, and cheer for the Phillies. With her sense of humor, kindness, and positive attitude, she was a friend to many.

Esther is survived and known as Mom by her two loving daughters, Linda Wentzel (Jack Green) and Terry (George Schorn), as Grandmom by her granddaughter, Dana (Mike Piscopo), as Es by Jack Green and his daughter, Devon Green, as G.G. by Alex, Amanda, and Brandon Piscopo, and Freya Green Olson, and as Aunt Es by her nieces, nephews and close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on January 4, 2024, at Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, 1856 Forest Grove Road, Forest Grove, Pa. The family will receive friends at a luncheon at the church immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Esther requested that memorial contributions be sent to Forest Grove church. Mailing address is Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, 1856 Forest Grove Road, Furlong, PA 18925-1120.
