Posted

Art-Venture Flemington will host local artists painting “en plein air” (outdoors) throughout Flemingtonʼs downtown historic district on Oct. 23.
Artists will capture Victorian architecture, shops, garden scenes or natural beauty all over the borough from 9 a.m. to noon. The resulting paintings will be exhibited beginning at 1 p.m. under the tent at 50 Stangl Road. An awards ceremony and reception will follow at 2 p.m.
Artists should check-in at the tent between 8 and 9 a.m. before painting at their selected location. The painting session ends at noon, when artists will bring their work for back for display.

Judging the “plein air” paintings and awarding three prizes (totaling $500) will be fine artist Aida Birritteri and art educator Jenevieve DeLosSantos. An award-winning artist from High Bridge, N.J., Aida Birritteri works in watercolor, ink and gouache. She has exhibited at the Phillips’ Mill Art Show in New Hope, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in New York City, Allied Artists of America and more.
Jenevieve DeLosSantos is an assistant teaching professor of art history and the director of special pedagogic projects at Rutgers University School of Arts and Science. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History from Rutgers in 2015 with a focus in 19th century American orientalism.
The public is welcome to observe artists at work throughout Flemington Borough.
