Eldon J. Cummings Jr., 79, of Jamison, passed away Jan. 27, 2023.
Born Dec. 7, 1943 in Los Angeles, Calif., he was a son of the late Eldon J. and Marian (Crist) Cummings Sr.
During Eldon’s childhood in Los Angeles his grandmother would often babysit for their neighbors, the Wilson brothers (the Beach Boys). Eldon studied engineering and marketing at the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and earned a degree in marketing. Eldon met his late wife, Gail, through the Alpine Ski Club. They were married on the Queen Mary in 1973 and honeymooned by rafting the Colorado River. Eldon supported both of his children through many years of scouting trips in Tucson, Ariz. He worked as an auditor for Pima County and was active in Toastmasters in both California and Arizona. More recently, Eldon moved to Bucks County, Pa., to be close to his daughter. He enjoyed meeting new people, attending musical performances and writing montages as a member of Poets for Peace.
Survivors include two children, Wendy Adams (Ray Case) and Scott Cummings (Gina) both of Doylestown; two grandchildren, Jayna and Braxton; and a brother, Clyde Cummings.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown. Interment will be held privately.
