Buckingham Township police found an elderly man and woman dead in their Village of Buckingham Springs home Monday morning, the department said on its Crimewatch website.
Police said they responded to the housing community at 1490 Durham Road about 8 a.m., after receiving a call from a man who said he shot his wife.
A note was found on the front door of the home that included contact information for a family member.
Inside, officials said, they found an 88-year-old man in the front of the home and an 85-year-old woman in the rear of the house. Each had a single gunshot to the head.
Notes to family members were also found inside the house, providing information on the couples’ estate and burial.
The identities of the couple were not released, pending notification of additional family members, said police.
