Echoes welcomes Tim Farrell with Craig Thatcher in Sellersville Theater show

Posted

The Sellersville Theater and Echoes present a concert featuring two well-known guitarists, Tim Farrell and Craig Thatcher, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Each artist will perform a solo set and then perform duets together for “what promises to be an exciting evening” of acoustic guitar and ukulele music.

Tim Farrell is an internationally known musician, composer, recording artist, performer and educator. He is one of only four artists to be honored as one of the 100 Greatest Acoustic Guitarists who have also won Best Instrumental in the International Acoustic Music Awards.

Farrell’s fingerstyle playing and original compositions display an elegant simplicity that celebrates the purity of the acoustic guitar. He is a rare kind of musician, with the ability to both entertain an audience and inspire future generations of players.

He has shared the stage with many notable musicians such as George Benson, Les Paul, Rick Wakeman, Jake Shimabukuru, John Sebastian, Jean Luc Ponty, Derek Trucks and many more … Farrell’s music is enjoyed worldwide in concert, on radio, TV, films, streaming services, CDs, inflight audio, and more …

“Tim Farrell brings a melodic sensibility to his compositions that makes him stand apart from most of the fingerstyle crowd,” said Echoes Radio.

Craig Thatcher is a band leader (The Craig Thatcher Band), an International Clinician/Ambassador for C.F. Martin & Co. of Nazareth, Pa., a guitar instructor and recording artist. Once he heard Eric Clapton and then Jimi Hendrix, he focused on a rock style of lead guitar, based in the blues. Thatcher is also a strong solo acoustic guitarist, focusing primarily on fingerstyle country blues. He has performed in one capacity or another in nearly every U.S. State, as well as over 35 different countries.

He has worked with and/or opened for many great artists, including Simone, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, John Mayall, Jimmie Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Vanilla Fudge, Charlie Musselwhite, Dicky Betts, Savoy Brown, Jorma Kaukonen, Roseanne Cash, Herman’s Hermits, David Bromberg, Steve Miller, Bill Kirchen, GE Smith and many other international artists.

The concert will be held at The Sellersville Theater, 24 W. Temple Ave., Sellersville. Livestream tickets are also available. Visit https://www.st94.com.
