DPC service to honor grief, find comfort, gain hope

Posted

Doylestown Presbyterian Church invites the community to attend “A Service of Light in the Midst of Darkness.”

The service takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, in the Sanctuary, 127 E. Court St., Doylestown, and can also be viewed online at www.dtownpc.org/watch-us-live.

As the holidays approach, joyful celebration is the theme. For many, however, the death of a loved one makes it difficult to participate. This Service of Light is a place to honor our grief, find comfort through music and scripture, and gain hope and strength for the days ahead.

Doylestown Presbyterian Church Deacons will read scripture, the Rev. Pauline Sexton, pastor, will offer a hopeful meditation titled “Treasures in Darkness,” and beautiful music will be provided by soloist Gina Ricci along with DPC Organist the Rev. Dr. Mina Choi.

Those viewing online are encouraged to have a candle on hand to light during the service in memory of loved ones.
