Doylestown music venue Puck Live to reopen with new operators

The Great Barn Taphouse is moving into one of Doylestown’s favorite live music spots, which has been closed, except for a brief interlude, for about five years.

Puck Live, tucked into Printer’s Alley in the borough, will once again host bands in its basement-level lounge, Great Barn recently announced. It was not clear when the music side of the operation will start.

With a “soft opening” set for Friday, the bar will offer Great Barn Taphouse’s own microbrews and other Pennsylvania-made wines and spirits.

And, as renovations move forward, Great Barn officials said they hope to serve food and open the building’s upstairs bar and popular garden bar.

Great Barn closed its location at The Shops at Valley Square in Warrington last year. The business, which calls itself a farm-to-glass brewery, has locations in New Hope and Kintnersville.

In 2022, Doylestown-based Daisy Chain Events, created by Joe Montone and Sean McGuiness, reopened the music venue. With live bands and dance parties, Daisy Chain Events brought new life to Puck, which had been closed since January 2019. That effort ended last year.

Puck’s owners, Bill and Lynn Goldman, opened the business in August 2006.
