Doylestown Borough councilman Tim Brennan moving to state House of Representatives

Posted

Tim Brennan turned in his resignation letter to Doylestown Borough Council Monday.

Following his election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November, Brennan will be sworn in to his new role representing the 29th District on Jan.3 in Harrisburg.

“It has been one of my greatest honors to serve you and past members of this council,” said Brennan, in his letter to council. “I am very proud of the work we were able to do these last seven years, particularly our work completing the Broad Street project, protecting all of our residents, supporting our police and fire services and in becoming a model for thoughtful and sustainable local government.”

Brennan, a Democrat, praised the council for its dedicated work and commitment to the community.

“I’m lucky to have served with you. This is a great place to live, work and raise a family and that doesn’t just happen. I appreciate your service. I am so much better having served with you,” he said.

Brennan said he’s looking at opening his legislative office on Main Street in the borough.

Applications to fill Brennan’s vacancy in Ward 2 for a term ending Dec. 31, 2023 are being accepted. Residents who have lived in Ward 2 on or prior to Dec. 19, 2022 who would like to apply may submit a letter of interest and a resume to the attention of John H. Davis, manager, Doylestown Borough, 10 Doyle Street, Doylestown, Pa. 18901. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 31.
