Demystify the practice of starting seeds indoors

Posted

“Seed Starting Demystified” will be the featured program of the Trevose Horticultural Society’s Feb. 20 meeting in Bensalem.

Bucks County Master Gardener Joan Pavlica will present a lecture geared to those who’ve tried and failed to get seeds started indoors.

The session, set for 7 p.m. at the Bensalem Senior Center at 1850 Byberry Road, will include information that’ll help gardeners interpret seed packet information, choose the right soil and containers and absorb the finer points of transplanting, fertilizing and hardening off seedlings for outdoor planting.

Pavlica has been a Penn State Master Gardener since 2013. She conducts in-person workshops and fields home gardening questions on the Garden/Watershed Hotline. She co-authors the Master Gardener column in the Upper Bucks Free Press.

Meetings are open to the public. Those who are not members of the Trevose Horticultural Society are asked to make a $5 donation. For more information, call 856-866-9163 or visit www.trevosegardeners.org.
