In honor of its centennial celebration, the Delaware Valley Music Club, founded in 1920, plans a gala “Evening in Spain” between 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at the social hall of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road and Route 413, Doylestown (Buckingham Township).
While the actual centennial date was in 2020, the event had to be postponed because of the pandemic. Now the club is making up for lost time, offering its members and the public a “spectacular anniversary party filled with music, delectable food and thrilling entertainment.”
“The hall will resound with castanets and pulsing Spanish rhythms as celebrated flamenco dancer and choreographer Lisa Botalico performs the drama of flamenco with her dance troupe.”
The music of the evening continues with the rich baritone voice of Keith Spencer, acclaimed locally as well as nationally as a concert soloist and cabaret singer. Violinist and composer Claudia Pellegrini, born in Spain and an honors graduate of the Royal Conservatory Music in Madrid, will entertain, as will pianist Peter Hilliard, music director of the Savoy Company and occasional jazz piano player in the Bob Wagner Quartet.
