Delaware River management council schedules quarterly meeting

Posted

The quarterly meeting of the Lower Delaware Wild & Scenic River Management Council (LDWS) will be held virtually from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 23. The meeting link can be found on LDWS website.
Microplastics will be one focus of the meeting. Staff from PennEnvironment will discuss their 2021 report “Microplastics in Pennsylvania: a Survey of Waterways.” The report provides new data on microplastics found in water samples from many of Pennsylvania’s most popular rivers, lakes and streams, including the Delaware River.

Other topics of discussion will include current issues and development proposals along the river and adjacent to named tributaries.
The popular LDWS Mini-Grant program will be available again for 2022 projects. The program will open in a few months. Governmental entities, nonprofit organizations and schools in the Lower Delaware corridor may apply.
