Journey Once Upon a Dream on Sunday as Dance Del Bello returns to the Zlock Performing Arts Center at Bucks County Community College to present the full-length ballet, “The Sleeping Beauty.”
One of the best-loved classical ballets, “The Sleeping Beauty” retells the timeless fairy tale of good triumphing over evil. A princess, cursed by an evil fairy into an enchanted 100 years’ sleep, is awakened by true love’s kiss.
Set to Tchaikovsky’s score and based on Petipa’s original choreography, the production has been restaged by Delphine Del Bello Spencer. Additional choreography and restaging has been added by Thomas Gant Jr. and Stephanie Mumbauer.
The Dance Journal (Philadelphia) has said, “The Sleeping Beauty continues to enchant audiences, as its popularity pays tribute to the masters of the wonderful work of art; combining the highest quality of music, scenic design, drama and choreography.
