Posted

The Bucks County-based nonprofit Credit Counseling Center, which works to equip consumers with financial knowledge, effective habits and confidence, will host a Homeownership Empowerment Summit April 25 at Bucks County Community College.

From 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Newtown Township campus’ Gallagher Room, potential homeowners will meet and hear from real estate, mortgage, banking and title pros.

The event’s keynote speaker is Emily Murray, business development officer for the PA Housing Finance Agency.

The summit will also feature a panel discussion. The scheduled panelists are Frank Blumenthal, president-elect of the Bucks County Realtors Association; Michael Bannon, director of Bucks County Consumer Protection; Carrie L. Mann, vice president of Pennsylvania Land Title Association; and Thomas Lynch, vice president at the Mortgage Banker Association of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Participants will hear presentations, network and check out exhibitor tables.

The event is also a fundraiser in support of the Credit Counseling Center’s Home Strong Project, which helps homeowners prevent foreclosure through mortgage loan modifications.
