“Covering Romance” exhibition unveils romance novel cover art by John Ennis

Posted

AOY Art Center gallery will present the art exhibition, “Covering Romance,” featuring a collection of oil illustrations by the award-winning portrait artist John Ennis, originally published as paperback romance novel covers.

This showcase pays homage to the timeless allure of classic romance novels from the 1980-90s era. Art enthusiasts, collectors, and incurable romantics are invited to indulge in this display at the AOY Art Center gallery for two weekends only from Feb. 9 to 18.

Ennis, celebrated for his mastery in capturing human emotions on canvas, brought these love stories to life. The “Covering Romance” exhibition promises a journey through time, as visitors immerse themselves in the heartwarming narratives and enchanting atmospheres depicted in each illustration. These original oil paintings are being seen by the public for the first time, after being sequestered in the artist’s studio for 30 years.

A Special Preview Party will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9.

Guests at this exclusive preview will be the first to see and purchase the work while enjoying an offering of Ashlynn Distillery Bourbon and fine chocolates in celebration of the Valentine’s themed evening. The Special Preview Party will also include a chance to win a “Covering Romance” original painting as the door prize. Tickets for this event are available to the public but in limited supply.

Tickets for the “Covering Romance” with Bourbon and Chocolate Special Preview at AOY Art Center Gallery, 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley, are $35 per person. The dress code is cocktail attire. Tickets for the VIP Preview Party are limited and must be purchased in advance at https://aoyartcenter.wildapricot.org/previewparty.
