Council Rock North teacher accused of sex crime

Posted

Council Rock North High School teacher Steven Allan Struzinski was charged Thursday with trying to meet a 13-year-old boy for sex at a Buckingham park last May.

The juvenile turned out to be an adult witness who police said had been texting with a man identified as Struzinski while posing as a minor.

Struzinski, 42, of Plumstead, faces charges of criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and criminal attempt to commit unlawful contact with a minor.

Police said the investigation began last week when an individual came to the police department and told officers the story that unfolded between May 20 and May 23 of last year.

According to a press release, the witness said he first met Struzinski on a social media dating app. The witness reportedly told Struzinski he was 13 years old but the teacher initiated explicit sexual conversation and solicited a sexual encounter at George Bush Park in Buckingham.

The witness took a photo of the vehicle and its license plate when its occupant arrived at the agreed-upon time. Police said the vehicle was registered to Struzinski.

Without naming Struzinski, Council Rock School District Superintendent Dr. Andrew Sanko announced the arrest of a staff member to the community Thursday in a letter available for view on the district website, crsd.org.

The superintendent’s statement said the individual was placed on administrative leave as a result of the arrest.

“Our top priority remains the safety and welfare of our students,” Sanko noted.

The press release indicated that Struzinski was committed to Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
