Construction planned on Old Lincoln Highway, Rockhill Drive

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that roadway paving and traffic realignment are scheduled next week on Old Lincoln Highway and Rockhill Drive under a project to reconstruct, widen and improve U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

·Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., periodic 15-minute stoppages are scheduled on Old Lincoln Highway between the southbound ramp from Penndel (Business U.S. 1) and Bristol Road; and

·Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., periodic 15-minute stoppages are scheduled on eastbound Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
