Community college features “Handmade Photographs”

Posted

The Monalog Collective exhibits “Handmade Photographs” at Hicks Gallery at Bucks County Community College.
The exhibition, which opened yesterday and runs through March 11, is hosted by the college’s Arts and Communication Department.
The Monalog Collective is a group of black and white film photographers who create images using traditional wet printing methods and materials such as silver gelatin paper in a darkroom, or alternative processes and papers that members coat themselves.

Monalog is a group of like-minded photographers operating at a high skill level that has formed to promote black and white analog photography and the industry that supports it. They foster the growth of their community through membership and engagement with others, individually and through broader collaborative activity.
All member’s prints are original and handmade, using various processes.
“Handmade Photographs is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The gallery will be open until 7 p.m. on Feb. 9. The gallery is located at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown. Admission is free. Visit bucks.edu/gallery or call 215-968-8432 for information.
