Cocktails at the Castle offers experiences and packages

Posted
The Mercer Museum’s major annual fundraiser, Cocktails at the Castle, returns to Doylestown 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, for a night of culinary delights and craft cocktails.

An important fundraising component of Cocktails at the Castle is the online silent auction. Supporters can bid online before and during the gala, and tickets to the event are not required to bid.

This year’s auction experiences and offerings means that there is something for everyone, including a one-week stay at a luxury six-bedroom beachfront vacationhome on Sanibel Island, Fla.; a three-night stay at the Phillips Club II in the heart of New York City; a four-night stay at Arenas del Mar for an eco-luxury vacation in Costa Rica; an overnight stay at the James Gettys Hotel with a private tour of the Battlefield at Gettysburg National Military Park; and a Wheel of Fortune VIP Experience, with the opportunity to watch the show filmed at its California studio, airline tickets included.

Bidders will also be eligible for experiences at the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle.

For sports fans there’s a signed photo of Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles; a Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Legacy Crystal Decanter set with a bottle of Vermeil Dutton Ranch Chardonnay; and a limited edition Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LII commemorative football.

Nittany Lions fans can bid on a tickets and tailgate package for a 2019 Penn State football game.

This year’s auction highlights include art works by Christopher Willett, Jane Ramsey, Fred Place, and Dean F. Thomas. Jewelry designer Laura Rutkowski, of Cowgirl Chile Co., is offering a handcrafted bronze necklace and earring set.

Bidders can also choose from rejuvenating packages and experiences. Baskets of Cheer are also available for bidding and there are many fine dining experiences available, and overnight stays at the area’s historic inns.

Other experiences include, a Philadelphia cultural getaway, dining at Barra Rossa, and an overnight stay at The Ritz Carlton; a tour of the Pennsylvania State Capitol followed by lunch with state Sen. Chuck Mcllhinney; or a 30-minute Discovery Flight with Leading Edge Aviation.

Cocktails at the Castle silent auction bidding is now live. The event is black-tie optional and kicks off with a VIP reception at 6:30 p.m.

Doors open for all guests at 7 p.m. Tickets are $250/VIP, $175/Gala Admission and $150/Members.
