Pogonowski named chairman of Wrightstown Board of Supervisors

Posted

It’s more than 25 years and counting as chairman for Chester Pogonowski.

The longtime Wrightstown elected official was again named chairman of the three-person board of supervisors that locally governs the township at an annual board reorganization meeting held Jan. 3.

This year marks Pogonowski’s 34th on the board. He has been renamed chairman annually since 1997.

Pogonowski’s re-appointment was just one of the business items supervisors took care of at the reorganization meeting aimed at setting the necessary people in place to keep the municipal government functioning in 2023.

Supervisor Jane Magne was named vice chair, while Supervisor Robert Lloyd was appointed board treasurer.

Township Manager Stacey Mulholland, who took over the role from Joe Pantano last year, was also named secretary – a position that allows her to retain and seal official board documents.

Meanwhile, supervisors re-appointed key professionals that serve the township: Solicitor – Clemons, Richter & Reiss, with Terry Clemons and Vicki Kushto acting as leads; General Engineering – CKS Engineers, Inc. (Cindy VanHise will lead); Traffic Engineering – Pennoni Associates; Planning Consultants – Gilmore & Associates; and Zoning Hearing Board Solicitor – High Swartz.

Speaking after the meeting, Pogonowski said township officials have a number of goals and initiatives in mind for 2023.

Those include completing the purchase of a conservation easement to protect more land against development, stabilizing the road bank and roadway of Cedar Lane, finishing interior renovations at the public works building, replacing a dump truck, and installing a parking area and making roof repairs at the Octagonal School, a historic cultural landmark dating to the early 1800s.
