Charles was an active member of Solebury Friends Meeting and served on several committees throughout his long membership.

In his retirement, Charles loved traveling, boating, swimming and spending time with a diverse group of friends. He was always accompanied by a beloved schnauzer, first Gretel, then Chloe. He continued to enjoy photography, winning several photo contests in Pine Island after his move there.

Son of the late William and Rose Zelvinsky Lipsen, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Lipsen, of Pine Island, Fla.; his son, Aaron Lipsen, and his wife Kerry Frabizio of Stockton, N.J.; his daughter, Roslynn Nyemscek, and her husband Josh of Emmaus, Pa.; his sister, Lois Fogel, and her husband Harvey; two nieces and several cousins; and his many former students.
