Charity fashion show to fund arts scholarships

Posted

A fashion show with clothing by designer Morgan Grabarz, artist Eleanor Voorhees, and Sojourner will take place Sept. 22 in Lambertville to support the Jim Hamilton Shad Festival Art Scholarship.

The scholarship fund awards $10,000 to two high school seniors from Lambertville or New Hope who want to pursue a career in the arts.

Grabarz, a New Hope-Solebury graduate, is a two-time winner of the scholarship. She obtained a BFA in fashion design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and received her MBA from NYU Stern.

Voorhees maintains her own studio at The People’s Store in Lambertville. There she creates and sells paintings, clothing, and mixed media art.

Sojourner is a store on Bridge Street in Lambertville that carries Grabarz designs plus other textiles, beads, clasps, jewelry, clothing and accessories. Its co-owner — Amy Coss — is president of the scholarship committee.

Tickets cost $20 and a percentage of the proceeds and merchandise sales will go to the scholarship.

They are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/myevent?eid=668925101987 and at Sojourner, 26 Bridge St. Lambertville.
