Chalfont resident raises funds for PPE

Posted

A Bucks County resident recently raised more than $1,000 in support of front-line health care workers.

During a live-stream event, Luke Johnson, 21, of Chalfont completed a number of challenges in exchange for donations. Ultimately, he had to shave his head and eyebrows, and wax his arm and leg hair.

While Johnson may have a little less hair these days, those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic have more personal protective eequipment (PPE), thanks to his efforts.

Johnson donated the funds, raised from friends and acquaintances, to Philly Fighting COVID, which has been manufacturing face shields for Philadelphia area hospitals, including Doylestown Hospital.
