Chalfont-New Britain Township Joint Sewage Authority to close roads for utility improvements

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said the Chalfont-New Britain Township Joint Sewage Authority will be performing pavement restoration on New Galena Road and Barry Road in New Britain Township, under a utility improvement project.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 14, from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m., New Galena Road will be closed between Barry Road and Walter Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Barry Road, Railroad Avenue, Sunset Avenue and Route 152 (Main Street); and

Monday, July 17, through Friday, July 28, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Barry Road will be closed weekdays between New Galena Road and Railroad Avenue. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Railroad Avenue, Sunset Avenue, Route 152 (Main Street) and New Galena Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zones. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

Chalfont-New Britain Township Joint Sewage Authority will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
