Central Bucks East student Julia Velez to release her latest single and first EP

Posted

Raw Beatz announces the release of the latest single, “This Feels Raw,” by Julia Velez, a 16-year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrument musician who attends Central Bucks East High School. The single will be released at noon Friday, on all music streaming and download services.

“This Feels Raw” is described as embodying “a vibrant, rocking melody with haunting lyrics that will catch the listener’s ear, mind and soul.” This upbeat, more lighthearted track on Velez’s upcoming EP is about that person who is so caught up in how they are perceived and what others think, that they live and act like someone is always watching. The lyrics explain the struggle of trying to maintain a strained relationship with this person despite their foolish pride.

Velez composed the lyrics and music, as well as the arrangement and orchestration, and co-produced the recording with her Technical Producer, Rory Miller. Velez plays acoustic and electric guitar, and keyboards, and sings with the voice of a much older soul.

She has already released three singles, “The Original Barbie,” “Superficial” and “No Sincerity” (also available on all platforms), in the past year to significant notice and acclaim. Velez and her production team are busy putting the finishing touches on the EP (Extended Play) titled “Old Hollywood,” comprised of six original compositions, each with its own individual genre, melding together to display the depth of artistry and talent emanating from this young musician; “This Feels Raw,” “Past Lives,” “Billabong,” “Nostalgic,” “Mind Your Mouth,” and the title track “Old Hollywood.”

The anticipated EP release date is Nov. 17.
