CB East graduate on School of Rock tour to support teen suicide prevention

Editor's Note: This story has been updated to reflect that Eva K. was picked for the North Atlantic — not the Northeast — Team.

Eva K., a music student at School of Rock Doylestown and a 2023 graduate of Central Bucks East High School, is a member of the School of Rock AllStars, a touring ensemble of some of the top teen musicians from School of Rock franchises from across the country.

Eva and her AllStars bandmates are performing at venues across five northeastern states through July 30 to support mental health awareness as well as raise funds for the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS).

“Eva is one of our most energetic, committed, and talented students, and we’re thrilled that she was selected to join the AllStars,” said Melanie Boyd, general manager of School of Rock Doylestown. “She’ll be joining 25 SoR musicians from across the country on her journey, and thousands of music fans will enjoy and experience the amazing talent of these young musicians.”

Being a member of the AllStars represents the highest level of achievement for School of Rock music students. Fewer than 1% of 62,000 SoR students from around the world are selected to join the ensemble.

Eva and her North Atlantic Team are having an authentic touring experience, including traveling on a tour bus, doing publicity, and starring in nightly performances at such venues as Toad's Place in New Haven, CT; Sonia in Cambridge, MA; The Met in Pawtucket, RI; Amityville Music Hall in Amityville, NY; Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck, NJ; and the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY.

A portion of the ticket sales and donations collected during the School of Rock AllStars tour will support SPTS, which is dedicated to reducing the stigma around discussing suicide and empowering teens, parents and educators with the skills needed to help youths in crisis.

Following the tour, Eva – who is a guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist – will prepare to begin her freshman year at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
