“Two Artists of Lambertville – The Train and River”

Posted

Cathy Begg and Stephen Harris, two artists living in Lambertville, N.J., will present their diverse work at the Lambertville Library from Oct. 4 to Nov. 15.

An opening reception will be held from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3.

“Two Artists of Lambertville – The Train and River” will feature their interpretation of the river and trains that were central to the city’s development.

Begg will show her metal works, which are created by staining and applying salts/chemicals to recycled “1940 copper printing plates,” which creates truly one-of-a-kind art, with some pieces framed with upcycled wood.

Harris will display a mixed media that incorporates his local photography with metal reclaiming from the Lambertville “Graffiti Train,” which for years was a destination for artists and teenagers. The abandoned and decaying train often served as a backdrop for portraits, album covers, and creative photography.

Lambertville Library is located at 6 Lilly St., Lambertville. Hours are posted at: lambertvillelibrary.org.
