Carversville Inn plans get a tweak in Solebury

Posted

Some changes to construction plans at the Carversville Inn on Fleecydale Road were unanimously approved by the Solebury Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.

The applicant proposes to change the current use of a first-floor restaurant and four residential rental apartments back to a country inn with a first-floor 65-seat restaurant and no more than six inn rooms on the second and third floors, along with a one-story addition.

It was also noted that evergreen trees with a minimum height of six feet will be planted every 50 feet of the length of the building facades. Shrubs and annual flowers also would be part of the landscaping.

Co-owner Milan Lint has said he hopes to have all renovations done in 15 months.

In other business, the supervisors unanimously agreed to create a Comprehensive Plan Committee to deal with updating the township’s guiding document by 2024.

It will review and recommend revisions to the plan in light of township changes over the past 10 years, update demographic statistics, and recognize modifications to township growth and planning goals.

The supervisors will appoint the nine members of the committee, serving with no compensation. One member each will be a member of the Environmental Advisory Council, Land Preservation Committee, Parks and Recreation Board, Historical Architectural Review Board, and the Farm Committee. The three other members will be residents of the township at large.

In other matters:

• Baum Baicker thanked township employees who recently volunteered at Gravity Hill Farm in Titusville, N.J. The farm works with Rolling Harvest Food Rescue donating fresh produce to food banks around Bucks County. Staff helped plant acorn squash and weeded. “This is a great thing, so thanks to all involved,” he said.

• The board and the New Hope-Solebury School District agreed to share costs for maintenance to “School Zone” signs at the intersection of Sugan Road and Route 263.

• Baum Baicker sent board congratulations to the 112 graduating seniors from New Hope-Solebury High School — “in particular the 89 Solebury residents,” he added.
