Carol L. Kinnier

Carol L. Kinnier passed away at the age of 94 on December 10, 2021 at her home in Pennswood Village in Newtown, Pennsylvania.

Carol was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 5, 1927. She studied piano and flute at The Juilliard School in New York City. She later became a retail buyer for Wanamaker’s Department Store.

Carol lived in Doylestown, Pennsylvania for many years and resided at Pennswood, a continuing care retirement community in Newtown, for two decades. She served on the board of Doylestown Hospital in the 1970s through her affiliation with the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown. Carol was a longtime supporter of classical music and the visual arts in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was very active in the Episcopal Church, and was known for her keen intellect, generosity, and her love of books.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Irene E. (Schachtel) Kinnier and Wilson W. Kinnier of Doylestown, and by her sister, Joan Silk Wilson, also of Doylestown. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Lynn O’Connor, of Pasadena, California, her brother-in-law, Tony Wilson, of Camden, Maine, and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the pandemic, the family will hold a memorial service at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury, Pennsylvania at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Carol to The Michener Art Museum, 138 S. Pine Street, Doylestown, Pennsylvania 18901.
