Cafe with Soul, a nonprofit restaurant that supports music and STEM in the Central Bucks Community, is bringing that mission directly into the restaurant Oct. 26, with a morning of breakfast entertainment featuring the Central Bucks West High School Harlequin Club.
The drama club students will perform numbers from their upcoming show, “Chicago,” along with other Broadway favorites as guests eat breakfast. The restaurant – located at 800 N. Easton Road in Doylestown – will donate a portion of the morning’s proceeds directly to the Harlequin Club.
Harlequin Club Producer Suzanne Safran approached founder Joel Zazyczny with the concept of doing a singing waiter type event that would give the club’s students a fun performance opportunity in the community and also raise funds to support the club’s first trip to the State Thespian Conference. Zazyczny responded with an enthusiastic “yes” and plans were set in motion immediately.
The Broadway Breakfast event will take place from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will serve only a breakfast menu that day. The entertainment will be appropriate for guests of all ages. No special ticket or advance reservation is required.
