Bucks County Wine Trail Holiday Celebration, Vineyard Illumination set

Posted

The holiday season is the perfect time for mulled wines and festive cookies, and the seven wineries of the Bucks County Wine Trail have plenty of each during the annual Holiday Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11.

Visitors can experience the beauty of the wineries decorated for the holidays while enjoying spiced wines, sampling Christmas cookies and artisanal cheeses, and relaxing with the sounds of holiday music. As an added bonus: guests can get a jump-start on holiday shopping with special discount pricing, wine gift packs, gift baskets and unique wine accessories.

The Holiday Celebration is also the kickoff for Light up the Vines, the third annual vineyard illumination. Light Up the Vines continues through Jan. 1.

Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery is hosting a fundraiser for the nonprofit Perkasie FISH organization on Saturday, Dec. 10. Wear flannel and receive $1 off a glass of wine. Bishop will donate $1 to FISH, which provides food, housing and clothing to people in need. Cousin’s Maine Lobster food truck will be on-site from noon to 9 p.m. Mike Chet will perform a holiday show from 4 to 8 p.m.

Sip seasonal sangria on Sunday, Dec. 11. Street Sammies food truck will be at the winery from noon to 6 p.m. Ash and Snow will perform from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Buckingham Valley Vineyards will offer complimentary warm, spiced wine and homemade Christmas cookies (made with Seyval Blanc wine). The winery has many Christmas and wine-related gift items available for purchase and will be offering one-day service on custom labeled wine and champagne bottles.

Crossing Vineyards and Winery will host Santa and Mrs. Claus on both days of the Holiday Celebration. Customers can share their holiday gift list and grab the perfect photo opp.

The winery will offer hot mulled wine, seasonal cocktails (including a “Tipsy Rudolph”). Crossing Vineyards will also have specialty food and wine pairings, holiday merchandise discounts and live music from 2 to 6 p.m. both days. Meg Russell will perform on Dec. 10; Skip and Chickie will entertain on Dec. 11.

The winery will stay open late on Saturday, from noon to 9 p.m., so customers can enjoy the twinkling vineyard lights, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Check hours, events and availability with the winery you plan to visit as each winery sets its own hours and offerings.

Seven wineries are part of the Bucks County Wine Trail: Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery, Buckingham Valley Vineyards, Crossing Vineyards and Winery, Rose Bank Winery, Rushland Ridge Vineyards, Sand Castle Winery and Vino by Zzino. To learn more, visit online.
