Bucks County Symphony Orchestra and Mercer Museum announce special event

Posted

The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra (BCSO) and the Mercer Museum, operated by the Bucks County Historical Society, invite the community to a special evening of entertainment on Thursday, May 11.

“A Concert at the Castle” will be held at the Elkins Gallery of the Mercer Museum, 84 S. Pine St., Doylestown, at 6 p.m.; doors open at 5:30 p.m. Chamber musicians from the BCSO will perform works by George Frideric Handel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Gioacchino Rossini.

Following the performance, guests will attend an intimate reception and have exclusive evening access to the Mercer Museum’s Everyday Rhythms: Music at the Mercer exhibit from 7 to 8 p.m.

For nearly 20 years, from 1959-1977, the BCSO and the Bucks County Historical Society presented afternoon “Musicales” in the Elkins Gallery. Both organizations are pleased to bring back a nod to this cherished tradition after nearly half a century.

Tickets for this historic event are $75 per person, and may be purchased at MercerMuseum.org/aconcertatthecastle.
