Bucks County garden club offers scholarship

Posted

The Martha Washington Garden Club of Yardley is offering, in memory of member Jane Parr, scholarships to high school or college students who plan to pursue a career in horticulture or related fields.

Due May 1, the applications are available to students who are enrolled in or plan to attend an accredited college in one of these fields — horticulture, landscape architecture, forestry, conservation, environmental studies, turf management, conservation and wildlife management, marine biology or floriculture.

The scholarship amount is determined on a year-by-year basis. This year’s figure was not available.

Applications are available at https://marthawashingtongardenclub.online/scholarship-application/. Recipients will be named in June. Applicants must live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware.

Established in 1935, the Martha Washington Garden Club encourages interest in all aspects of gardening through educational lectures, community and therapy garden projects and the annual scholarship.
