Posted

Bucks County Foundation, a charitable trust created to serve Bucks County and the people who live in the county, recently awarded Women’s Animal Center, America’s First Animal Shelter, a $10,000 grant to support the upgrade and purchase of new cat condos for the Adoption Center.

Mandy Mundy, executive director of the Bucks County Foundation, visited Women’s Animal Center to present the grant award to Cathy Malkemes, Women’s Animal Center’s CEO, and Katie Ottaggio, director of community programs.

“It is a most generous investment in our adoptions center to upgrade our cat housing to benefit the health and well-being for the beautiful feline friends waiting for their forever homes,” noted Ottaggio.

Providing nutritious meals, medical and compassionate care to shelter pets, Women’s Animal Center also strives to provide health-supporting housing.

The partnership between Bucks County Foundation and Women’s Animal Center bears deeper involvement and includes the foundation’s total investment of $60,000 over the past several years in the lifesaving work of America’s First Animal Shelter.

The foundation has contributed to essential surgical and wellness equipment to enrich the lives of animals including an ultrasound machine, fencing for the shelter play yards, cat housing upgrade to improve the habitats for the cats and kittens in the shelter’s cat admissions and holding area, and dental equipment.
