Bucks County Foodshed Alliance Farm Tour Evenings return

Posted

The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance farm evenings are set to begin.

Tours are free; donations to offset the cost of BCFA’s programs are encouraged.

The series kicks off Wednesday, June 1 at Gravity Hill Farm, 67 Pleasant Valley Road, Titusville, N.J.

Gravity Hill Farm focuses on food justice and teaching about nature through organic farming and raising animals. All growing activities on the farm benefit Rolling Harvest Food Rescue, which welcomes volunteers.

The series continues Wednesday, July 6 with a visit to Myerov Family Farm, 306 Elephant Road, Perkasie.

Myerov Family Farm is a family run CSA farm growing a variety of vegetables and fruits. They have beehives and produce raw honey. The farm also offers educational programming and farm to table events.

The final farm tour is Wednesday, Aug. 3 at Barefoot Botanicals, 380 North Shady Retreat Road, Doylestown.

A certified organic farm working to increase the health and biodiversity of the land they lease, the farm focuses on growing medicinal and aromatic herbs.

Each potluck meal runs from 6 to 7 p.m., with the tour to follow. Visitors are expected to bring a dish to share, their family’s own eating equipment, beverages and seating, and to carry out their own trash. Or join for the tour only.

Cancellations due to weather will be posted at BucksFoodshed.org, Email admin@bucksfoodshed.org for information.
