PA Department of Health provides update on COVID-19 – 1,213 positives bring statewide total to 105,571
The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of noon, July 24, that there are 1,213 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 105,571. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19. There are 7,101 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 22 new deaths reported.
Allegheny is reporting an increase of 198 cases, and Philadelphia is reporting an increase of 227 cases.
Numbers by county
• Bucks County: 6,614 cases and 574 deaths
• Chester County: 4,532 cases and 339 deaths
• Delaware County: 8,140 cases and 679 deaths
• Lehigh County: 4,624 cases and 334 deaths
• Montgomery County: 9,385 cases and 844 deaths
• Northampton County: 3,703 cases and 289 deaths
• Philadelphia: 24,630 cases and 1,665 deaths
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between July 17 and July 23 is 151,858 with 5,912 positive cases. There were 25,602 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., July 23. These results represent the total number of tests .
There are 639 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure, which are considered probable cases and not confirmed cases. There are 999,377 patients who have tested negative to date.
New Jersey cases total 177,587
The New Jersey Department of Health announced that as of July 24 there are 177,256 cases of COVID-19 and 13,810 deaths plus 1,920 probable deaths. There are 7,910 Mercer County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 and 565 people have died. In Mercer County, there are 14 new cases and also 43 probable deaths from COVID-19. Hunterdon County reports 1,102 cases and 70 confirmed deaths plus 56 probable deaths from COVID-19. There is 1 new case in Hunterdon County. In New Jersey, 1,859,638 persons have been tested and the rate of transmission is 0.9.
