PA Department of Health provides update on COVID-19 – 758 new positives bring statewide total to 117,279

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of noon, Aug. 7, that there are 758 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 117,279. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19. There are 7,297 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 15 new deaths reported.
Philadelphia is reporting an increase of 111 cases.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between July 31 and Aug. 6 is 148,658 with 5,443 positive cases. There were 24,388 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Aug. 6. These results represent the total number of tests administered.

  • Bucks County: 7232 cases and 582 deaths
  • Chester County: 5,054 cases and 346 deaths
  • Delaware County: 9121 cases and 697 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 4,918 cases and 336 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 10,015 cases and 855 deaths
  • Northampton County: 3,913 cases and 292 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 26,419 cases and 1,702 deaths

New Jersey cases total 183,701

The New Jersey Department of Health announced that as of Aug. 7 there are 183,701 cases of COVID-19 and 13,934 confirmed deaths plus 1,875 probable deaths. There are 8,087 Mercer County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 and 579 people have died. In Mercer County, there are 15 new cases and also 39 probable deaths from COVID-19. Hunterdon County reports 1,144 cases and 70 confirmed deaths plus 56 probable deaths from COVID-19. There is one new case in Hunterdon County.
